As a singer-songwriter, I’ve spent years in an industry where appearance was constantly under a microscope. It was always seeing beautiful photos of myself that would bring me back to reality. It’s so easy to get swept away by other’s opinions, but the reality is, we are all fly in our own way!

I actually picked up a professional camera one day because I need to take some nice photos for my furniture website. (At one point I was making custom beds and headboards out of my garage full time. Insert sweat emoji. lol) I ended up asking a few of my friends to model for me just for fun. Who would have thought what would transpire after tha? I was hooked.

I knew these friends well. I knew their insecurities. When they would see their photos, they would say things like “Wait, I actually love my butt!”

I knew immediately that I loved boudoir, but ended up taking any photography job I could get for several years while I refined my skills and built my portfolio.

Fast-forward to 2020. The time at home gave me the space I needed to really get serious about what I wanted. I signed up for course after course, and when things opened back up, I started taking in-person workshops.

In the summer of 2021, I officially opened the doors to Chrissy René Studios. Things took off fast! The first year I photographed clients in my home. The following year we built a gorgeous 500 sq ft natural light studio on our property.

This was no small feat. I sanded and sealed the concrete myself, textured and painted the walls and even installed a bamboo and faux beam ceiling treatment with the help of my sweet husband.

The space is earthy, bright, yet moody, and cozy as can be. It’s private, peaceful, and designed to be a place where you can let your guard down. Many women arrive feeling at least a little nervous, but they usually say the nerves go away pretty quickly. I guide you through the whole experience and always cater to your comfort level. I may sound repetitive when I say this, but I’VE GOT YOU!

Five years in, and I could not love my job more. I have literally created my dream life. I get to hang with amazing humans and make them feel even more confident and beautiful.

In my free time you can find me decorating my home, thrifting with my friends, playing with my pups Duke (papillon mix) and Bowie (a weens), lounging with the husband, and I’m happy to say that I’m back to making music!
