It’s happening!

We are going to create some beautiful photos together.

Photographs of a woman in various poses, scattered on a cream-colored shaggy rug. There are two brown and one dark green envelope bags among the photos.

A little preparation goes a long way

Your Signature Mini is designed to give you the full Chrissy René Studios experience in a shorter, beautifully focused session.

You do not need to know how to pose, practice expressions, or arrive feeling completely confident. I’ll guide you through every movement from the moment you step in front of my camera.

This guide will help you prepare so you can arrive feeling comfortable, cared for, and ready to enjoy the experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Mini Experience includes:

  • A 45 minute guided boudoir session

  • Up to two wardrobe looks

  • Personalized posing and expression coaching

  • A private proof gallery

  • 10+ fully retouched high-resolution digital images

  • 10 one-of-a-kind Polaroids presented in a leather keepsake envelope

CHOOSING YOUR TWO LOOKS

Most clients choose two outfits that feel noticeably different from one another.

A few combinations that photograph beautifully:

  • A matching lingerie set and an oversized button-down

  • A bodysuit and our “Wet Set” (We have all types of white tops and you bring the black undies)

  • A soft, romantic look and something darker or more dramatic

  • A fitted tank or tee with underwear and a more elevated lingerie look

  • “In the Sheets” implied nude look (topless is allowed) and a Calvin Klein style set.

You are never required to wear lingerie or show more skin than feels right to you. Bring anything that makes you feel beautiful, interesting, powerful, soft, sexy, or simply like yourself.

Avoid bringing too many choices. Select your two main looks in advance so we can move smoothly through your session. Because our shooting time is intentionally focused, arriving prepared allows us to spend more of your session creating beautiful images.

You’re also welcome to bring a meaningful prop such as a book, some records (I have a record player) etc.

FIT MATTERS MORE THAN SIZE

Choose pieces that fit comfortably!

Before deciding on an outfit:

  • Try it on and move around in it

  • Sit, bend, and raise your arms

  • Check for straps or waistbands that dig in

  • Remove tags that may show. Store tags as well as sewn in tags.

  • Make sure cups lie smoothly and don’t gap.

If something needs constant adjusting at home, it will probably need constant adjusting during your session too.

HAIR & MAKEUP

Before we talk makeup, please do not feel obligated to wear any if that’s not your thing! I love a fresh faced session.

Signature Mini clients arrive with their hair and makeup done unless professional makeup is added to the session. If you’d like to add hair and makeup, please let me know in advance so I can book your artist. Unfortunately, I can’t usually accommodate last-minute requests because makeup artists are often already booked.

For makeup, photography tends to soften what you see in person. Slightly more definition than your everyday look usually photographs beautifully.

Consider:

  • Even, moisturized skin

  • Defined lashes

  • Groomed brows

  • Soft contour or blush

  • A lip color or gloss you can bring for touch-ups

For hair, choose a style that feels like a slightly elevated version of you. Loose waves, curls, sleek straight hair, textured natural styles, and polished updos can all work beautifully.

Please arrive completely ready to begin shooting. Our scheduled time does not include curling hair, or finishing makeup.

THE WEEK BEFORE

You do not need to drastically change your routine before your session.

A few simple things can help you feel your best:

  • Drink water consistently

  • Moisturize your skin

  • Try on both outfits, including accessories

  • Remove store tags, sewn in tags and stickers

  • Avoid trying unfamiliar skincare treatments

  • Schedule waxing, tanning, facials, or other services early enough for any irritation to settle

THE NIGHT BEFORE

Set everything out so your session morning feels easy.

Pack:

  • Your two selected outfits

  • Black underwear if you’re doing “Wet Set”

  • Favorite thongs if you’re doing “In The Sheets” set

  • Any shoes or accessories you plan to use

  • Makeup and lip products for touch-ups

  • A hairbrush or comb

  • A loose outfit to wear to the studio

Please avoid alcohol or late-night partying the evening before your session. Get the best rest you reasonably can, but do not panic if you don’t sleep amazing. Excitement and nerves are completely normal.

Morning of

Eat a protein-rich breakfast or meal before you arrive. Boudoir posing can feel like a gentle workout, and you will feel better with enough energy.

Before leaving home:

  • Apply clear deodorant

  • Do your make-up and hair

  • Moisturize your body but avoid products that leave your skin oily as it ruins my studio props

  • Remove hair ties and tight clothing early to prevent marks

  • Wear loose clothing and easy-to-remove shoes

  • Arrive with clean feet, and nails

Please arrive on time—not significantly early or late. Sessions are scheduled carefully, and late arrival may reduce your available shooting time.

WHAT NOT TO WORRY ABOUT

If you came to me tomorrow with no prep, we would still get amazing photos so don’t stress.

You do not need to know how to pose, what to do with your face, hands etc. I GOT YOU!

Almost everyone feels nervous at first. I will demonstrate poses, guide your hands, adjust small details, and coach you through the entire session.

Your only job is to show up.

RETOUCHING & PRIVACY

Your final images receive professional retouching while still looking like you.

Temporary blemishes, bruises, and small distractions can be softened. I do not reshape your body into someone else’s body or remove every detail that makes you human.

Your privacy is deeply important. Your photographs will never be shared publicly without your permission. You are always in control of whether your images remain completely private.

FINAL CHECKLIST

Before heading to the studio, confirm that you have:

  • Two complete outfits

  • Proper undergarments

  • Shoes and accessories, if desired

  • Makeup for touch-ups

  • A brush

  • Loose arrival clothing

  • A protein-rich meal in your system

  • The studio address and arrival instructions

Most importantly, bring yourself exactly as you are.

I cannot wait to create something beautiful with you.
