Terms & Conditions

Photography sessions and purchases

We want you to know exactly what to expect. These terms explain booking, payments, your photographs, studio safety, and text communications. “We,” “us,” and “the Studio” mean Chrissy René Studios. “You” means the client accepting these terms.

Your booking confirmation and written order identify your session, price, included services, and products. Any specific written agreement signed by both parties takes priority if it conflicts with these terms. Accepting these terms does not authorize public use of your images or enroll you in text messages.

Booking retainer

The standard booking retainer is $499, although a promotion may offer a lower amount. Your actual retainer reserves your appointment and is credited toward your purchased package. Your confirmation states the amount paid. Only the services and products expressly listed in your booking or order are included.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you cancel at least seven days before your scheduled session start time, we will refund the amount you actually paid to reserve the session. With less than seven days’ notice, the retainer is not refundable, but you may request a reschedule under the rules below.

You may reschedule once without a fee when you notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled session start time. Your retainer transfers to the replacement date, subject to availability. A second reschedule requires a new booking retainer unless we agree otherwise in writing.

With less than 48 hours’ notice, your retainer is forfeited and a new retainer is required to book another date. We may make an exception for illness or an emergency at our discretion. An exception does not change the policy for other bookings.

A no-show forfeits the retainer and is not eligible for the free reschedule. Any future session requires a new booking. Send cancellation or rescheduling requests by studio email or the client-facing studio number; keep your written confirmation.

Late arrival

Please arrive at your scheduled time. Arriving late can reduce your shooting time or make hair and makeup unavailable if the artist must leave. Late arrival does not extend your appointment or entitle you to a refund for time or services missed because of your delay.

Orders and payment

Image selection and purchases

You will select and order your photographs on the session day or at a reveal date we agree on. Your written order records the selected collection, images, products, total price, applicable taxes, and payment schedule. Please review it before approving.

Delivery and final sales

No digital files or physical products will be delivered until the order is paid in full. Delivered digital purchases are final. Albums, wall art, prints, and other physical products are final once we have placed the corresponding order with our supplier. You cannot change an album after it has been sent to print.

For a purchase that is not on a payment plan, a refund may be requested only for the portion covering digital files not yet delivered and physical products not yet ordered. Refunds do not apply to services already performed. Payment-plan purchases follow the studio-credit policy below. These policies do not limit remedies required by law or our responsibility to resolve a defective or incorrectly fulfilled order.

Payment plans and studio credit

Payment-plan installments are credited toward your order. They are not refunded simply because you change your mind or stop paying. Before the affected digitals are delivered or products are ordered, you may request a downgrade to a smaller package. We will document the revised order, apply payments already made, and adjust the unpaid balance. Amounts paid beyond the revised order remain studio credit, rather than a cash refund.

If an installment fails, contact us to arrange payment. We pause delivery until the balance is paid. We do not automatically cancel your order or erase your paid credit because you stop responding. If you return later, we will apply that credit toward your order or a mutually agreed alternative if the original images or products are no longer available. This credit has no stated expiration. Credit does not guarantee indefinite storage of photographs.

Album approval and defects

You are responsible for checking image selections, spelling, layout, and other design details before approving an album or custom product. Approval authorizes production. A change of mind after production has been ordered is not a manufacturing defect.

If a product arrives with a manufacturing defect or shipping damage, contact us promptly with photographs of the issue and retain the packaging where possible. We will coordinate an appropriate replacement or correction. Normal material variation and screen-to-print differences are not necessarily defects.

Your photographs and privacy

Style and editing

Booking confirms that you have reviewed our portfolio and understand our photographic and editing style. We choose which photographs meet our technical and artistic standards and belong in the final gallery. RAW files, unedited files, rejected images, and working files are never delivered.

Standard beauty editing is included. We do not change who you are. Extensive edits or requests outside our usual work may involve an additional fee or an outside retoucher, discussed and approved before that work begins. Any outside retouching of intimate images will be discussed with you first.

We do not guarantee a particular pose, exact recreation of an inspiration image, or that you will like every photograph. Any image count or other deliverable expressly promised in your written booking or purchase remains part of our agreement.

Copyright and your use of purchased images

The Studio retains copyright. After full payment, purchased digital photographs include permission for personal printing, personal sharing, and posting on your personal social media. Cropping is allowed. Please do not apply filters, recolor, retouch, or otherwise alter the finished work.

Selling, commercially licensing, or using photographs to train an AI system requires our separate written permission. For branding or other business photography, the written order must include a commercial-use license describing the permitted business use; a personal-use license alone does not cover that use.

Proofs and galleries

Proofs are for choosing your purchase. Screenshots, screen recordings, copying, or downloading unpurchased photographs are prohibited. Do not remove watermarks or share gallery access with unauthorized people.

Private images and public permission

We will not publish your photographs on social media, our website, in advertising, or in our public portfolio without a separate signed release authorizing that use. Booking, accepting these terms, or purchasing photographs does not provide that permission. Private processing, gallery hosting, and product fulfillment may require access by service providers involved in completing your order.

Downloads and storage

Download your purchased digital files promptly and keep secure backups in more than one place. We take reasonable steps to protect photographs, but do not guarantee archival storage after delivery. We may be unable to restore lost files or reopen a gallery. For unpaid orders, we make reasonable efforts to retain files while the order is pending, but your studio credit is not a promise of permanent image storage.

Guests and studio safety

Guests and minors

One accompanying guest age 21 or older is permitted for boudoir, maternity, and branding sessions. People who are part of the booked photographs are welcome as agreed in advance. Guests must respect your privacy and studio directions and may be asked to leave if they interfere with the session.

Boudoir participants must be at least 18 years old. For minors in maternity, family, branding, or other appropriate sessions, a parent or legal guardian must authorize participation and any required release. If you book for a minor, you confirm you are the legal guardian or have valid authority to arrange that permission. These terms alone do not substitute for the guardian’s consent.

Conduct

We may end a session for threatening, abusive, sexually inappropriate, intoxicated, unsafe, or seriously disruptive behavior by you or your guest. No refund is due for a session ended because of that conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

Hair and makeup

Hair and makeup may be provided by an independent professional. Disclose known allergies, sensitivities, and relevant concerns before products are applied. You may decline any product or service. You consent to the services you choose and acknowledge that reactions can occur even with reasonable care.

Posing and physical comfort

A session may involve standing, kneeling, arching, sitting, or lying down. Tell us about injuries, pregnancy, physical limitations, or other concerns affecting safe participation. You decide whether a pose is comfortable and may decline or stop any pose at any time. You accept the ordinary risks of voluntary participation. This acknowledgment does not waive claims for negligence, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or rights that cannot legally be waived.

Alcohol and belongings

We may offer one optional alcoholic drink per session to an adult client age 21 or older, subject to availability and applicable law. Alcohol is never required. You are responsible for deciding whether drinking is appropriate for your health, medications, and transportation. We may decline to serve alcohol or continue a session when safety is a concern.

Please keep track of your belongings. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage outside our reasonable control. This does not excuse harm caused by our negligence or misconduct.

Pets

Pets require advance approval. You are responsible for supervising your animal and for injury or property damage it causes, to the extent attributable to your responsibility under applicable law. We may require a handler or crate and may stop animal participation if it is unsafe.

Studio interruptions and communications

Studio emergencies and liability

If illness, severe weather, equipment failure, or another emergency prevents us from providing the session, we will contact you and arrange a replacement date. If we ultimately cannot provide the booked service, we will refund payments for the services and products we cannot provide.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from an inability to perform the booking or fulfill an order is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected booking or order. This limit does not apply to negligence causing personal injury, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Text messaging program

Chrissy René Studios offers SMS and MMS through its client-facing studio number. With your separate permission, we may send automated or personally written messages. Service messages concern your inquiry, appointment confirmation, reminders, rescheduling, reveal, payment, and order updates. Marketing messages concern offers, last-minute openings, giveaways, new sets, and other promotions, including promotional reminders about an unfinished booking.

Text enrollment is optional and separate from agreeing to these terms. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchase. We send each category only with the corresponding consent. A phone number or booking alone does not enroll you. You must control the number you provide and notify us if it changes. If you decline texts, we use email or another agreed contact method for session communications.

Message frequency varies with your bookings, conversations, and selected subscriptions. Message and data rates may apply to texts sent or received. We aim to keep messages relevant. Carriers are not responsible for messages that arrive late or fail to arrive.

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from studio texts. We may send one confirmation, then stop further texts from that number, including automated appointment reminders. We also honor other clear requests to stop. To enroll again, provide a new affirmative opt-in through our signup process. You may contact us by email after opting out.

Reply HELP for assistance, or contact [STUDIO SUPPORT EMAIL] or [CLIENT FACING STUDIO PHONE]. See our Privacy Policy at [PRIVACY POLICY URL] for how we handle personal information and messaging consent.

Agreement and applicable law

These terms are governed by Texas law, subject to applicable federal law and any mandatory consumer protections. An unenforceable provision does not invalidate the remaining terms. Updates apply to future bookings or new orders; we will not retroactively change an accepted booking or order without agreement. Required electronic acceptance records your agreement to the version presented. Separate releases and SMS permissions remain separate.
